Housed within the historic Biblioteca Ambrosiana, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana was established in 1618 thanks to a generous donation following Cardinal Federico Borromeo's generous donation of artworks. The collection showcases a rich artistic legacy, featuring paintings primarily from the 14th to the 19th centuries. You can admire masterpieces like Leonardo da Vinci's "The Musician," Caravaggio's "The Basket of Fruit," and Jan Brueghel's "Vases of Flowers." The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana boasts works from various schools of art, including Venetian, Flemish, and Lombardian. In addition to paintings, the collection also includes sculptures crafted from bronze and marble.
