Opened to the public in 1960, this legendary home allows visitors a guided tour through the Gilded Age. Henry Flagler was one of the most influential figures of the era. He was largely responsible for establishing tourism and agriculture as the mainstays of Florida's economy. At Whitehall (commonly the Flagler Museum), which was once described by the New York Herald as "the Taj Mahal of North America," visitors can get a glimpse of a monument of American development.
