Tlalpan

One of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City, Tlalpan is filled with old worldy charm and mystery. This borough is famous for the Fiesta de Agustín de las Cuevas en Tlalpan, held in the heart of the borough, in honor of San Agustin de las Cuevas, with its itinerary of horse parades, a procession of rebozos (traditional clothes worn by women), folk dances, cock fights, typical Mexican food and a photography contest. A special delight are the singing processions, known as callejoneadas, which go up and down the narrow streets accompanied by music. This is a festival full of mysticism and tradition that is well worth attending. The streets of Tlalpan are narrow, so parking in this area could be complicated and you are advised to use public transport if possible.
