Ballastone Inn

The stones used to construct this 1838 building came to America as ballast in ships that would return to England laden with cotton, and thus the name Ballastone was considered appropriate for this gorgeous establishment. This elegant B&B sits beside the Julliette Gordon Low House and near garden squares in a very genteel corner of the Historic District. From the opulent common rooms to the antique-appointed guest rooms, the place is truly luxurious. Guests enjoy a complementary full breakfast, afternoon tea with hors d'oeuvres and brandy and chocolates in the late evening.
