At Saint-Ex, expect a cornucopia of reconfigured comfort-food classics. Rather than pub-style calamari, get Wood-Grilled Calamari with green beans, frisée and a basil-walnut pesto. Instead of battered rock cod and fries, you can have fresh Nova Scotia Swordfish with sweet potato purée and a parsley-orange salad. Needless to say, the steak is not country-fried it comes from an organic farm and is perfectly cooked with a side of roasted fingerling potatoes and a fancy pesto of its own (grilled lemon). The burger (of grass-fed beef) and the Fried Green Tomato BLT are big hits at lunch, and the wine, beer and small-batch bourbon selections are absolutely beloved at night.
