Every year the residents of the city witness the popular Locarno International Film Festival, hosted at the Piazza Grande. Piazza Grande Locarno was converted into an outdoor cinema, seating upto 7,500 spectators! Besides this grand festival, this spacious venue also hosts other major events and cultural festivals.
