A few minutes from downtown Savannah, this historic landmark offers a remarkable insight into the accomplishments of the Eighth Bomber Command, created shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Its purpose was to conduct aerial bomb missions against the Germans in Europe. It also served in the 1950s Korean War and the Southeast Asian conflict of the 1960s. The museum features artifacts, collections and exhibits, as well as a research library, restaurant, chapel, gift shop, educational programs, and children's camps. It's well worth a trip to discover a proud military legacy.
