The first lighthouse to be built in the state of New York, constructed in 1796, Montauk Point still shines out to sea from its 110 foot (and 6 inch) height. A museum is located on-site, and many weddings and other special events are hosted at this historic marker. Group tours are conducted frequently, with a climb up 137 iron steps to a stunning view.
