Piazza Castello is a magnificent square steeped in history. The rectangular space is home to several architectural landmarks, including the Palazzo Reale and the Palazzo Madama. Other notable structures gracing the piazza include the renowned Regio Theatre, the elegant Galleria Subalpina shopping arcade, the historic Church of San Lorenzo, the esteemed Royal Library housing works by da Vinci himself, and the State Archives located in the adjacent Piazzetta Mollino. You can take a break under the porticoes to go shopping or to relax in one of the many cafés.
