The library at Lancaster came into being somewhere during the late 1700s . It houses a common reference library as well as a children's library. The Entrance of the library opens up to the Market Square and is famous for being built using the Lancaster Stone. What draws the public to the library is its association with Get It Loud in Libraries' movement that organize concerts and intimate performance within libraries premises to get more youth involved in books and other reading material. At present the library is undergoing renovation, however it is partially open to public. Check the website for more details.
