Situated at a stone's throw distance from the Missouri River, Missouri Theatre is a cultural gem and pride of St. Joseph. Built in 1927 as a movie theater, it was converted into a performing arts theater in 1978 after the town council got its owning rights. In 1979, Missouri Theatre was inducted to the National Register of Historic Places. After undergoing a major renovation in 2002, this Art Deco building has refound its original glory of the former days.
