The Founders Brewing Co. is not just a microbrewery, it is an institution in itself. Established in 1997, it has consistently received accolades and bagged awards for its first-rate beer. Originally known as the Canal Street Brewing Company, this brewery overcame some torrid initial years to become a major brewery in Michigan. Some of the specialty brews include the oak-aged Curmudgeon Old Ale, Rubaeus with notes of red berries and the aromatic Double Trouble.
