Reflecting excellent Baroque designs, the Wiblingen Abbey is an old monastery dating back to the 11th Century, founded by Hartmann and Otto von Kirchberg. The monastery was dedicated to St. Martin and is popular for housing one of the best libraries in Germany. The library has a huge collection of significant books and documents but what is more notable about the library is its Rococo architecture. It features statues, frescoes and intricate carvings that make the library quite noteworthy. The church in the monastery features Baroque architecture as well and has a beautiful ceiling with colorful frescoes designed by Januarius Zick and the roof dates back to the 1770s. Today, the monastery hosts a slew of events from meetings to conventions and exhibitions. Its museum features many relics from the bygone era.
