St. Nikolaikirche Bad Liebenwerda is an important religious center for the Protestant community of the city. The construction date of the church is uncertain however earliest mentions of it date back to 1376. The splendid facade of the church displays strong late-Gothic influences with bright red brick walls. Inside, there are several interesting elements that might catch one's eye. These include the neo-Gothic pulpit, intricate paintings, stained-glass windows and a dominant Triumphal Cross from the 16th- 17th Century. There is a late-classical organ erected by the renowned organ builder- Johann Gottlob Mende.
