Via San Valentino 51a, Merano, 39012
The Giardini di Castel Trauttmansdorff, nestled on the eastern edge of the city of Merano, Alto Adige, arouses enthusiasm and admiration for their wide range of landscape views: this area of 12 hectares (30 acres), the most popular tourist destination in southern Tyrol, has over 80 botanical environments, with plants coming from all over the world. At the heart of the gardens stands the mighty Trauttmansdorff Castle: the mansion, with its turbulent history spanning seven centuries, has attracted even the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, who spent two periods of winter here.
