Enclosed by woods, pastureland and rolling hills, Schloss Fasanerie is among the most elegant baroque's palaces of the region. The former summer residence of the Hessen royalty is now a significant repository in Germany. The castle complex now owned by the House of Hesse Cultural Foundation was revived in the 1950s and was further renovated in 2010. Get transfixed by the impressive furniture, porcelain and Objet d'art showcased in 60 stunning rooms. Be it the rococo plaster, lavish interiors, baroque arts and crafts, and furnishings, this fantastic museum gives a glimpse of aristocratic life. The unparalleled porcelain collection of over 1800 pieces and antiquities display are also among the best in the region. The castle park is another important facet of this place. Spread over 100 hectares (247. 10 acres), it is an enchanting interplay of artificial lakes, meadows, woods, trees and flowers. The Prince Henry Gallery showcases artworks by Enrico d’Assia or Prince Heinrich of Hesse-Kassel. The castle also hosts theatrical acts and concerts regularly. Get replenished at the on-site restaurant located in the south wing. You can also hire the palace for weddings, exhibition or any other event.
