Located on the slopes on Mount Ingino, the picturesque town on Gubbio dates back to pre-Roman times. The largest surviving ancient Umbrian text- the Eugubine Tables were discovered here in 1444. The ancient town is home to several medieval structures and religious landmarks catering to Gothic and Renaissance styles. The historic event of Palio della Balestra takes place here every year which is a popular tourist attraction. Palazzo dei Consoli of Gubbio, the 12th-century Cathedral of Gubbio, Palazzo Ducale of Gubbio, Church of San Francesco and the Gubbio Roman Theatre are noteworthy attractions.
