One of the finest examples of late Gothic hall architecture, Dom St.Marien's origins go back to the 12th Century when it was built as a Romanesque hall church. It took 110 years between the 15th and 16th Centuries to transform it into its present form. A major religious site, its baroque spire towers the cityscape at 87 meters (285.43 feet). Over its long existence, it has undergone a few renovations. Adorned with intricate artworks, the sculptures, figurines, high altar and ribbed vault are worth a look.
