Eton College rowing teachers collaborated their ideas to form the essence of what Dorney Lake is today; it took about 40 years to turn that idea into a reality. Beautiful surroundings that complement the water courses and community events organized at Dorney Lake have made it the world-class sporting center that it is today. Dorney Lake is suitable for flat water canoeing, rowing and kayaking events. Eton Dorney Rowing Centre at Dorney Lake was chosen as a venue for the 2012 London Olympics.
