1400 North Sacramento Avenue, Chicago, IL, United States, 60622
Named after the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, the Humboldt Park lays sprawled over a massive area of 207 acres (83.7 hectares) in the neighborhood of the same name. The construction of the park began in the 1870s based on the designs of well-known architect, William Le Baron Jenney, but by the time the park was opened, in 1877, there had been tremendous contributions made by other known talents like Jens Jensen. Today, this park is a hub of activity with locals coming here for a walk in its sheltering greens, or to play baseball, tennis or basketball, or, perhaps, discover the neighborhood's rich Puerto Rican culture at the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture.
