Built in 1927, the Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira or the Couto Pereira is a local stadium. It is named in the honor of Major Antônio Couto Pereira, the president of Coritiba Foot Ball Club (home team of this stadium), who commissioned its construction. However, for almost 45 years it was named Belfort Duarte, owing to the dispute amongst club members about the stadium's name. However, after the death of Major Antônio Couto Pereira in 1977, it was renamed as Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira once again. Over the period, this sporting venue was renovated and refurbished several times, and it can accommodate 37,182 spectators. Visitors can also avail the tour of this stadium that takes you through the entire structure including the press box and locker room. Apart from that, Couto Pereira also hosts concerts and similar entertaining shows on a regular basis.
