The neo-Gothic style Loviisan Kirkko church was built between the years 1863 and 1865. It was built in place of the old church that was destroyed in a fire in 1855. It was designed by the Finnish architects Julius Basilier and Georg Theodor Chiewitz. This red-brick church features a clock spire and a smaller bell tower. Most of its bricks were sourced from the remains of the old Svartholm Sea Fortress. It can comfortably accommodate hundreds of worshipers. This impressive church is a must-visit for architecture lovers.
