Bermeo is a pleasant fishing village located in the politically volatile Basque region of northern Spain. People commute between here and Bilbao by the EuskeoTren train service, which runs through the picturesque coastal region. Boasting a number of heritage listed sites, some monuments date way back to 1239, when Bermeo was founded. The renowned Festividad de La Magdalena which draws Catholic worshippers, is held here.
