The Themenpark Kohle & Energie is a part of the award-winning Hessian Brown Coal Mining Museum in Borken. Discover antique mining locomotives and witness bucket chain excavators, drilling equipment and powerplant turbines in action. This outdoor museum is spread over a massive area of over 3 hectares with exhibits ranging from operational mining equipment and historical displays, to interactive exhibits that allow you a glimpse into the life of a miner. Uncover the region's rich mining legacy at the Coal and Energy Themepark of Borken. The themepark is open seasonally from April to October. Group tours and private tours can be arranged by prior appointment. The themepark is sometimes used as a venue for concerts. Against the backdrop of the impressively lit up mining locomotives, a concert at the Themenpark Kohle & Energie is an unforgettable experience indeed.
