A fine example of Gothic-style- the magnificent Liebfrauenkirche was built in 1286 under the instruction of Count Henry I. In 1476, the church was completely destroyed during an unfortunate fire. Two years later, reconstruction of the church began through donations collected from the citizens. Complete with exquisite interiors and exteriors, the church attracts several visitors throughout the year. It is considered as an important religious center for the Protestant community of Frankenberg.
