TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, ENTERTAINMENT VENUES
Built in the 18th century, St Andrew's in the Square is considered to be one of Britain's finest classical churches. An example of Gregorian architecture, the church was designed by architect Allan Dreghorn and was the first Presbyterian church that was built after the Reformation. While the building has gone through a number of renovations over the years, several essential features of the original structure still survive, most notably its clock tower, pillars and murals. It was last used as a church in 1990 and is now the Center for Scottish Culture and aims to promote traditional Scottish music, dance and culture.
