Rockford Park, situated in the heart of Wilmington, is a popular local attraction and was added to the prestigious National Register of Historic Places in 1978. With a hefty financial contribution from popular industrialist and nature conservationist William Poole Bancroft, this park was established in the year 1889. The 75-feet (22.86 meters) high Rockford Tower built in 1901 is situated in the midst of Rockford Park. Rockford Park also boasts several walking and hiking trails that wind through the park's natural landscape. The paths offer opportunities for exercise and exploration, with various scenic spots to pause and admire the views.
