The ruins of Totenkirche Treysa is a major historic landmark of the city. Listed as a protected monument, the incredible structure has several visitors throughout the year. Built in 1265, it was consecrated in the 16th Century. The incredible facade of the church showcases a mixture of the Romanesque and Gothic influences as it was built during the transition period. The most significant aspect of the structure is the bell tower known as the Buttermilk Tower.
