Wilshire Boulevard Temple is one of the oldest Jewish congregations in Los Angeles, California and was founded in 1862 as Congregation B'nai B'rith. The immense Byzantine Revival dome has been a Los Angeles landmark since 1929. The dome stands at 100 feet (30 meters) in diameter with its top 135 feet (41 meters) from the street, and was designed by architect A.M. Edelman. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 21, 1981.
