Located in the Massie School Building in Savannah, the Massie Heritage Center was opened in 1856 and served as the city’s first public school. Since then, it has taught students and the general public about the city's historic environment with class lessons and outdoor experiences. The goal is for people to learn about Savannah’s local history, its architectural styles and diverse economic groups.
