Located in Manta close to Saluzzo, Castello della Manta is a beautiful caste whose original structure Manta dates back to 12th Century. Several years later, it was extended and converted into a royal residence by the Saluzzo della Manta family, Saluzzo's margraves. Castello della Manta houses several rooms. Out of these, the Baronial Hall is famous for the fresco cycle ornate work done on its walls. Its walls also feature a rare artwork of Late Gothic art in northern part of Italy. A church is annexed to Castello della Manta, the apse of which features several frescoes depicting the life of Jesus Christ. In the second half of February, Castello della Manta remains open from Tuesdays to Sundays between 10a to 5p.
