TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Church of King Charles the Martyr is a historically significant parish church in Falmouth, Cornwall. The church came into existence in the 17th Century after the monarchy was restored post the English Civil War (1642-1646). The church is dedicated to the memory of King Charles I, who was executed in the same war. The structure has been subject to several alterations and additions since its inception in 1662 and has thus garnered the reputation of being one of the most altered churches in England. The church is in possession of an enormous three manual organ which is said to be the third largest organ in Cornwall.
