Located on Nußbaumstraße, St. Matthäuskirche is known to be the first Protestant church in the city and dates back to the 19th Century. The current building of the church however was built over a span of four year in the 1950s. It was designed by Gustav Gsaenger. The church has beautiful architecture and houses a spectacular organ from the 1950s, built by Steinmeyer. The church bells are quite noteworthy as well. The church plays host to several local events and concerts.
