Prittlewell Priory dates back to the 12th Century and was turned into a private residence after its dissolution. It is a preserved priory which is open to public visitation. This medieval priory underwent refurbishment in the 18th Century and is designated as a Grade I listed building. The priory was opened as a museum in Southend in 1922. The priory houses interactive displays of the local wildlife. It has good disabled access.
