The majestic 19th-century All Saints' Church also called the "Cathedral of the Island" is the Church of England parish church for the lovely little town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The awe-inspiring structure was built in circa 1868 by well-reputed architect George Gilbert Scott in a 13th-century Gothic style using stone-rubble with ashlar dressings. The interiors of the roomy church can accommodate up to 1200 people and boasts predominantly Scott influences from the reredos to the font, the beautiful pulpit is crafted out of Derbyshire alabaster. The church also consists of two chapels – a war memorial chapel called The Warrior Chapel in the north aisle and The Chapel of The Good Shepherd in the south aisle. English Heritage designated the monument a Grade II listed building. Apart from soulful services accompanied by the excellent choir, the church also plays host to a number of events through the year.
