TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Shrewsbury Unitarian Church located on the Shrewsbury High Street is the remains of one of the most interesting churches of England. It was erected in the 17th century and saw many accidents and misfortunes, with the Jacobite supporters destroying it in the 18th century and it being rebuilt again subsequently. Samuel Coleridge was supposedly the minister of the church for a brief period, with William Hazzlit recording his first sermon. Charles Darwin had also offered his prayers here, in his childhood.
