In 1945, the church on Leistikowstraße was converted into a prison by Soviet soldiers. Today a memorial stands in its place that documents the historic happenings, which provide an interesting insight into the cold-war of 1940s. The jail cells remain largely unchanged, throwing light on gruesome realities that were a part of that era. The permanent collection here highlights this rough patch in Germany's history, chronicling the stories of the unfortunate inmates who once lived here.
