The only surviving mansion from the early years of the 18th Century in the city of Kassel, Bellevue Palace is an important landmark of the city. All other palaces have been ravaged during in the World Warr II or in the 1950s during the demloition wave of feudal structures. Bellevue Palace is nestled inside a neo-classical edifice and was constructed in the year 1874. Huguenot refugee and noted French architect Paul du Ry designed the building for the Langgrave of Hesse-Kasse, Charles I. The palace was initially erected as an observatory. Interiors of Bellevue Castle features rooms are embellished in a minimalist style combining classicism and rococo designs. Today, Bellevue Palace contains a museum dedicated to Grimm Brothers.
