Avenches is an vibrant municipality in Broye-Vully district of Switzerland. It is famous for its abundance of ancient Roman ruins like Avenches Castle, the Cure at Rue du Jura 2, the Swiss Reformed Church, the Temple à Donatyre and the Tour de l'évêque (Bishops tower), the amphitheater and Roman Museum. Most of them are designated as a Swiss heritage site of national significance. Entire Avenches and the Haras fédéral form a part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.
