Freshly poured beer and music of all different styles create the ideal surroundings for a meeting before a concert, disco or a private viewing of the extensive Faust grounds. The Faust area has become an important cultural place over the last few years. Members of both the "In and Out" scenes gladly meet up in Mephisto before they attend one of the numerous events in the grounds. The off beat charm of the cafe is consolidated by creative details e.g. the original lampshades - each of these unique objects was created in a Faust workshop by metal and object artistes. True atmosphere is created by DJ's and the dancing takes place on the open-air stage. Except for beer, Kölsch (a pale, strong beer brewed in Cologne) and wine, there is a large selection of alcohol free drinks and cocktails. Cakes are available with hot drinks in the afternoons and the prices of both the appetizing cold and hot snacks are definitely student friendly. The club is open daily from 10p.
