TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The city of Solothurn lies in its namesake district of Switzerland. The city is home to several historical finds dating back to the Paleolithic period. Ruins of a Mesolithic settlement were unearthed in the year 1986. A few items from the Iron, Bronze and Neolithic Age have also been digged here. Solothurn is home to some magnificent structures exhibiting Swiss, French and Italian Grandezza architectural styles. Other attractions include Gate of Basel, Besenval Palace and Landhaus.
