A mid-14th-century planned street, the Vicars' Close is situated in Wells in Somerset. Planned with extreme foresight, this street is flanked by a number of Grade I listed buildings on either side and even has 27 residences that were built specially for the Bishop Ralph of Shrewsbury, along with a chapel and a library. Standing at one end of the street, you can spot the majestic Wells Cathedral in the distance, as it is connected to the southern end of it by a walkway.
