The Hertefeld Castle is located in the Wezze town of the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. Its first historic mention was in 1322, and though it was originally independent, it was absorbed into the domain of the Cleves dukedom. The ruins of the structure were restored in the late 20th Century, in an effort to preserve its historical accuracy. The top is decorated by a Baroque cap: a replica based on the illustrations by Jan de Beijer.
