Surrounded by grand neoclassical buildings and mansions, the Højbro Plads were built after the 1795 Great Fire and it reflects in the squares artistic display. Named after the Højbro Bridge, the square’s most prominent attribute remains the horseback riding figurine of Absalon. The facade of houses and buildings on this lane are built in a similar style and the interiors of old houses include classic ornate instruments and designs principles. The square also hosts weekly vegetable and flea markets and are a great attraction for tourists across the globe.
