Embiez is a magnificent island situated in the Mediterranean sea, and is a part of the city of Six-Fours-les-Plages in France. It stretches over an expanse of 90 hectares (222.4 acres), and features some beaches which have been the recipients of the prestigious Blue Flag Eco-label. The island is home to diverse flora and fauna. There have been sightings of birds like avocet, grey heron, kingfisher and plover. The island was once owned by Paul Richar, a renowned French industrialist.
