TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Tucked away in the French-speaking region of Wallonia is the picturesque town of Dinant. This quaint settlement is a hidden gem, rich in scenic sights and spectacular vistas. An ideal destination for a quick getaway, the town is a haven for solo adventurers and families alike. Apart from the sublime views, the town is renowned as the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, the brainchild behind the Saxophone. Pretty much the entire landscape of the town is riddled with tributes to the saxophone. Mr. Sax's House, however, remains the best destination to learn all about the man and his invention. The Citadel of Dinant is yet another prominent attraction of the town, along with the Notre Dame de Dinant. When in town, also visit the famed Charles de Gaulle Bridge and Grotte de Dinant La Merveilleuse. Ending your sojourn with a trip to the Maison Leffe, a local brewery is highly recommended too.
