If you want to visit the awe-inspiring Swiss mountain Stanserhorn, one of the swiftest and most scenic ways to get there is by cable car. This funicular railway system was constructed in 1893 and has modern additions like observation and sun decks, a revolving restaurant and a souvenir shop at the summit station. There is a short tram ride up the mountain followed by a ride in the cable car, which affords panoramic views of the beautiful Swiss Alps in all directions. Some of the most famous Alpine peaks and ranges can be seen, including Jungfrau, Black Forest and Vosges Mountains. Dress in warm clothing because you may start out at the valley but will reach the top of the mountain in no time. Check the website for the seasonal hours of operation.
