Centro Histórico

Centro Histórico or the Historic Center of the city of Toluca is a traditional neighborhood in this Mexican city which has retained its old-world flavor. Formerly a part of the Aztec Empire the neighborhood contains numerous historic structires, some which date as far back as the 18th century. The architecture here shows a strong French and Spanish influence, reminiscent of the colonial era. Some of the places which are worth visiting while here include the Toluca Cathedral, the City Hall and the Botanical Garden of Toluca.
