Established in the year 1988 with the efforts of Roland Zwerenz, a noted physicist, Messe Giessen functions as a lively locale for trade shows, fairs and exhibitions in the heart of Giessen. Part of the Dresden-based BL & MS group of firms, Messe plays host to nearly 20 fairs annually, while around 3000 trade professionals display their products to a thriving audience. The well-maintained trade exhibition grounds have been a venue for local flea markets, the cultural gala Festival Eritrea and a host of contemporary music concerts. Popular bands who have enthralled crowds at Messe Giessen include ECHOES and The Hooters, among several others.
