December 6th is a very eagerly awaited day in Poland: it's the day that children receive gifts (in ever increasing numbers) from Saint Nicholas (Mikolaj). It's a big event for kids: there are special concerts, shows, programs on television and more. Community centers usually feature several days of special events. At school the day is celebrated with parties and gift giving. If you know any children, you might want to get them something small on the 6th.
